OSC Interview: Kent Bottenfield

Sorry for the delay on getting this out, but as you can imagine, things have been a bit busy around here working on the relocation bid. In our continuing series of interviews, the Oregon Stadium Campaign is proud to announce the latest in the series with an in-depth interview on pitching with Kent Bottenfield.

Kent hails from Portland, and spent the better part of 9 seasons in the Major Leagues, including the Expos, Cubs, Cardinals, Phillies, Astros, Giants, and Angels. His peak hit in '99 where he was awarded a spot on the All-Star team while posting an 18-7 record while playing with the Cardinals.

This interview covers a broad range of subjects, including life in Portland, Jeff Bagwell, tipping pitches, making adjustments over your career, watching Mark McGwire break the single season homerun record, and much more.

What will standout as missing will be questions pertaining to the '99 All-Star game. Unfortunately, Kent and I got disconnected during the interview process, and were unable to finish off this portion of the interview. I'm slated to get a call in to him at some stage, just as soon as we can get schedules to match up I imagine.

So, enjoy!
