According to news reports, Fred McGriff has finally accepted a trade to the Chicago Cubs, with the Cubs sending pitcher Manny Aybar to the Devil Rays in the deal. Now, why didn't Fred McGriff accept that trade to the Cubs a day earlier? Manny Aybar pitched a six-hit shutout Thursday night for the Iowa Cubs, obviously before he learned of the completed deal -- against the PORTLAND BEAVERS!!!!!

(This also posted on Portland Devil Rays thread.)

And since we're here, consider it closed.

The above post can be found in the "McGriff staying put! (well, for now)" thread.
