Welcome Cpt.Napalm!

I'm sure I speak for all the men and women here when I say, thank you for doing your job in Qatar, and we continue to support your efforts, as well as all the other men and women serving our country.

I hope that we see you here often, and I hope that we can help bring MLB to Portland so that you have, yet one more thing to look forward when you make it back home stateside.

Once again, welcome... great graphics!

Ahhh! I like it execpt for the pin stripes. As a Red Sox fan I just can't ever root for pinstripes.

I will try and knock the pin stripes out for ya as I am a Red Sox fan also. But maybe by putting pin stripes on something good it would counteract the evil that they represent now. I am also working on the Oregon Osprey's. I need more free time to clean it up a little.

As I am currently working on one for the Portland Barista's name. I love that name, being a barista myself Wink and I feel it accurately reflects something 'unique' in a way to the northwest. If nothing else I can use it for my fantasy team logo and uni's Prost

LOL!

I hadn't thought about it that way...

And it's always nice to have Red Sox fans in the NW.

Thanks. I've been busy, and spending all my 'board' time at the Steeler Nation.

Hey, at least you guys made the playoffs. I wish I'd been thinking when I was preparing to go to the Steelers/'Hawks game last November. Maybe we could have linked up for a beer or something. Oh well.

Well Pioneers fans, you've finally gotten your day...

I give you Meriwether the Raccoon, logo and mascot of the Portland Pioneers. Okay, the most burning question is, obviously, ˜why a raccoon?' "Pioneers" has the potential to be a controversial nickname, so I wanted to defuse that some by avoiding a masculo-centric or anglo-centric logo; i.e. putting a "white male" on the face of our team. Furthermore, given that some consider the overland movement to Oregon to be an invasion more than anything else, I wanted to "suggest" Pioneers without explicitly demonstrating them.

The raccoon, I believe, bears "Pioneer" connotations, if mostly in their deceased, ˜hat' form. But the critters are ˜pioneering' in their own right, perpetually unafraid of the unknown and going places where other, more timid, creatures dare not... Plus they thrive in the Northwest and are heretofore completely unutilized in Major League logos and/or mascots.

The colors, that dark wine red and slate gray, celebrate Oregon's natural bounty and region's mountains. They also recall Portland's sports tradition, incorporating, if not updating, the Red and Black schemes of the Winterhawks, Beavers, and Blazers.

Always looking west, Portland's raccoon can be both a fearsome fighter (just ask my cat) and a cuddly friend to the Pioneers' youngest fans. Right...well, lemme know what you think...

I think that Hat needs a P, not an animal, maybe if the Nmae in Pioneers, and Type of double P. That hat would work great for the BP or atl. hat. Good work, eventhough I dont really care for the colors its still great work and I would go for any Jersey as long as we have MLB!

Nearly a year for the next post. Roll Eyes

I like the Herons logo, along with the racoon Pioneers logo, however like JONFARR said, the hats should always have a "P" on them, no other images.

If the A's move to Portland, keep the name and have the Burghendy and Yellow colors.

I guess that I'm partial towards Frogs, but how about "Portland Frogs?" Are there any Frogs in the Portland area? If so, then it could work. Of course marketing issues are present.

Yeah there are frogs in Portland, lol. IDK how that name would work for a MLB team name though.

I think it could work. It's something quite different, however as I said before, there could be marketing issues because I think there is a minor league team that's called the Aqua Sox and have a frog for a mascot/logo.

Anyone want to make logos, jereys, etc. for the Frog name?
