So...the developer of the land near KC's Sprint Center has slammed the city for the lack of a major tenant in KC...Hello McFly?...KC is too SMALL for the NBA or NHL--just like Nawlins is too small for the NBA IMO...it's not an indictment against those cities--they have their good points, and living in cities of their size have real advantages over living in significantly larger cities....and, just because you're a smallish city like KC or NOLA, you can still enjoy an NFL team--but really, it's just too small for anything else major IMO...I realize the developers that're trying to develop around the KC arena just want to make some dough, but it never ceases to amaze me to see KC listed as a possible relocation target for an NBA and/or NHL team--it didn't make sense 1,3, 5 years ago, and it certainly doesn't make sense now, in this economy...deep breath

James - is there an article or something that you are referring to? If so do you have a link?
Although I do agree that KC (with NFL, MLB, and MLS teams already) is too small right now to support another franchise, I wouldn't lump them in with some of the upper midwest & Great Lakes cities which are not growing or are actually shrinking.
I would look for the Sprint Center (along with Las Vegas) to be this decade's version of Tropicana Field, a shiny new coin which forces other teams with dilapidated stadiums to shape up or get shipped out to KC.
