Sorry this place is a graveyard. Maybe the stadium talks will renew the interest.
The legend returns!

I don't think anything short of MLB talk will reinvigorate this website. Most people are simply not passionate about AAA ball in this town, although I do believe they will be much more excited about showing up to the new stadium if it is done right.

MLB never had a chance here and the internet moderator who started this website knew it from the start and went on to bigger and better things. Shut it down already Maury

Sorry you didn't have as much fun as the rest of us did with the attempt to bring the Expos here, Twin Bill. It was an exciting time, even though most of us knew from the start that MLB really wanted to go to Washington, but we got our name in the hat and MLB is certainly aware of Portland's interest, if nothing else. The day will come when MLB will decide to expand (maybe not soon, but some day), and the A's situation in the Bay is still touch-and-go, so who knows? This is no time to quit, just a time for some patience.

Besides all that, a lot of us made some really good friends through the interaction here, friends we will have for life. That was certainly another great thing that came out of the efforts.

And Maury was not the guy who started the web site, though he did eventually have major input. You may have noticed that Maury has gone on to other things, such as the Biz of Baseball. It is not his web site to shut down, and this place is still going to be needed on down the road.

A couple of changes. Mostly in terms of employment. I have been working for the city since October 2007. However, I was officially laid off on the last day of last year. It was a temporary assignment, anyway. So no surprise. Still, it's a change that I'm dealing with.
Transic - I forgot to mention that I'm sorry to hear about your layoff and I hope you landed on your feet somewhere. Thanks for continuing to check in and post articles, I read them all and it's fun to see all the twists and turns with the A's, Marlins, etc.
