One of the all-time favorite offseason topics for many SEC forums is to see who they like to see their team play out-of-conference or OOC. I thought I might bring up that topic here, but with a twist: your team has to play that same team OOC year after year (like Southern Cal vs. Notre Dame). Even though I am a Duck fan, I'm encouraging Beaver fans to think about this topic for their team as well. Right now I'm split between Purdue and Colorado for Oregon.

Ok, I see some people viewed this topic, but didn't have an opinion on it. So, let me ask you this: who would you like to see Oregon or Oregon State play out of conference??

I don't want the Ducks to play any single team OOC every year. I like what they are doing now, where they schedule a home and home series with different Big 10 teams every year. It would be cool if they did that with another conference as well (maybe the SEC or the Big 12), but that has the potential to make their overall schedule too overwhelming, especially considering that the other typical OOC opponents (WAC, etc.) are not the creampuffs that they used to be.

Well OSU is playing Penn State this season. I would just like to see them play a top east coast team on a yearly basis.

I don't like what the Ducks are doing with the different Big 10 teams, but that's my opinion. I'd like to see Oregon expand its recruiting base beyond California and Oregon, and that's just not going to happen with the type of schedule we're playing right now. IMO, California produces a lot of speedy high school wide receivers, dbs, rbs, and pretty good to fair quarterbacks, but that's it, IMO. Speed will only get you so far. I'm more interested in getting recruiting pipelines going to Ohio/Illinois (via a regular basis OOC Big Ten opponent), Texas (a place where we Ducks desperately need a presence, IMO), and/or Florida (yet another place where we Ducks desperately need a presence, IMO). Having said all of that, the only reason I'd ever want to play Colorado on a regular basis would be for nothing more than history, considering that Colorado HS talent isn't all that great. I'll still be a Ducks fan, win, lose, or draw (and the Ducks have been doing that a LOT lately), but I'd love for Oregon to put down some real roots as a college football power.
