Before you stone me, realize I remain a Blazer fan 1st and foremost...whether you love the Lakers or hate them (the more likely scenario around these parts), you have to admit, rooting for/against LA is a lot more fun than watching the Spurs in the Finals...w/LA, you either love 'em or hate 'em, there is NO in between--but boy you sure do watch them--w/the Spurs, there is just this indifference--nobody hates them, but no one (OK, almost no one, BC really likes them either, outside of SW Texas...I can't wait for the day PDX regains its rightful place as kings of the West (and the entire NBA for that matter), but until then--Viva Los Angeles!

Good memory, James ... Yeah, I'm rooting for the Spurs, but I'm afraid they are on their last legs. They're going to need to retool that team a bit if they are going to return to the top, I believe. The Western Conference is so tough and so balanced - sure makes for a lot of fun.
I, too, am looking for the Blazers to continue to improve, and hope to get to more than the two games I was able to attend this past season (saw 'em beat the 76ers for the final game of their 13-game winning streak, and the last Clippers game when my daughter danced with CVDA for the halftime show). It's fun to see th Blazers' excitement beginning to come back to town.
Imagine what it will be like when we get MLB here and have TWO major league teams to cheer for! ...

Do you have interest in a MLS team in PDX, BC? That seems the most realistic goal for PDX, at least in 2008--I would love it, and I think PDX would prove to be not just a rabid MLS market, but the rabid-est (forgive the Bushism)...what's CVDA?...Hmm...I'll take a stab: Chehalem Valley Dance Academy?...Cooties Via Director (Athletic)?

Good guess on CVDA, James; that's what is stands for. As for soccer, if we get MLS, fine, I might attend a game or two, but soccer is pretty far down my list as far as personal sports favorites go - baseball obviously being No. 1. I have not been to any Timbers' games - I'm gone enough from my family by scoring for the Beavers without going to more games I'm not working at!
