I was talking to someone I know with the Winter Hawks at a Beavers' game recently and heard that the hockey team was going to make an offer to the city of Portland to purchase the Memorial Coliseum and fix it up so they could have the revenue streams and really get the program back on its feet. If that is true, the city of Portland ought to consider using the pruchase price to help Merritt Paulson acquire the Blanchard property and get that minor league/major league expandable stadium built in the Rose Quarter area where it ought to be. I'm concerned that the Beaverton property may be too small and the adjacent owner is dead-set against selling (and I don't blame him after what the city did to him the last time).

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this.

If the Blazers have development rights to the property once turned private (which has been a point made during the Rose Quarter baseball discussion), can the Hawks really do anything with the Coliseum?
