I didn't hear it, and neither of them mentioned it on the Fan's website, so I'm guessing they didn't say much one way or the other. And hey, Rockstar is back! Welcome back! How are things in Vegas?

Thanks! Well when my project was done in Las Vegas back in June I decided not to move back to Portland. Instead, we settled in Phoenix for the long haul. It's great to have a company with many office locations. I could have moved back to the Northwest, California (Northern, but spendy) or go work on the new Giants stadium in New Jersey. After family considerations we settled on Phoenix. I have been to many D-back games already, so very good so far.

TCL Yes, Chase field may not be Safeco, but it works for me. I have been to more sporting events in the last few months than ever. ASU football, the Seahawk-Cardinal game yesterday(my brother-in-law works at the stadium and gets free tickets), D-backs and soon the Coyotes and Suns hopefully. I am more exited for ASU baseball. My office is directly across the stree from ASU stadium and Packard Field. It is hot here, but can't complain for the 8-9 months of my good stars this is great outdoor weather.

In today's Arizona Republic, in fact the front page, there is an article about yesterday's ground breaking in Goodyear for the new Cleveland Spring Training facility. TCL, I bet you will be there for the 2009 opening? Hopefully, the hotels, food venues and all other things spring up on time for the new 10,000 seat park. I bet it will be one of the finest in the Cactus League.

Yes... as an Indians fan and a Cactus League fan, I have been keeping tabs on this ever since the rumors starting swirling about whether they wanted to remain in Winter Haven (an out of the way location with zero amenities and a local fan base consisting mostly of Red Sox fans). There are several things in particular that intrigue me about this: 1. This is the first spring training facility that is being developed as a year round destination hub and city center, so I'm very curious (as a resident of Orenco Station, another planned community, and also as a potential transplant to the Valley) how it goes; 2. The facility is being designed for two teams. Ideally the other team should be the Reds (Ohio, Goodyear, Buckeye - it's a natural fit), but the Reds are still trying to get a new facility built in Sarasota. Plus you'd need another team to move from Florida, or have a different team move from AZ to FL (Brewers?). So we'll see how that plays out. And yes, I'll try to be there in '09 if possible. In the meantime, I'll be at Safeco next week cheering on the 2007 Central Division champions.
