Are there any books out that cover the MLB2PDX movement at all? If so what is the list of them?

I want to do some research and would love a list of some books to look at.

Thank you.

No books on the subject. I would suggest looking for books on the MLB to DC movement to see if Portland is referenced. It is also possible that Neil DeMause may have added something in the latest release of "Field of Schemes".

I saw a book (don't ask me where, maybe Seattle?) that dealt w/MLB coming to DC via the Expos, and it did reference PDX at least once or twice...I have no earthly idea about the title of the book, but it is out there somewhere...hope that helps.

You're most likely thinking of this book by Barry Svrluga of the Washington Post. It didn't really get into the details of the politics behind it as best it could. I have always thought that Eric Fisher, who was the sports business reporter for The Washington Times, and is now the main MLB reporter for the Sports Business Journal should have done one. He knows the story best. Wait till it's all over. I'm sure there is all kinds of stuff that will surface. On the Nationals Ballpark... on time and on budget. First game will be March 29th against the Orioles (exhibition game). Also, the Pope is making a stop. Tim Lemke of the Washington Times is someone I talk with often and he tells me all is on track -- they could play there today. Sod is down... base paths in place.
