Some tips on doing baseball research:

  • Use online resources to help you learn: - OBC has provided several great online resources on our Links page:
Baseball-reference.com is an outstanding cross-referenced database that lists all players and all teams within MLB. Other cool features include sections that have players born in each state, as well as, a list of "like players" that fit closely to the selected player. A "must bookmark" site.

BaseballLibrary.com is a good source for biography information, as well as stats.

Retrosheet is for the true "seamhead". Get boxscores for nearly all games dating back to the '20s. New data being added constantly.

A man has to have goals- for a day, for a lifetime- that was mine, to have people say, "There goes Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived." - Ted Williams
