A Hearty Welcome to our New Members!

I wanted to pass along to all the new members we had sign up in the last day to day and a half. Normally I'd address each of you individualy, but there was a massive influx on Weds. and too much happening for me to get it in.

I hope that you all will post often and pass the word on to others to write Salem.

Once again, welcome,
Maury

Hi Maury I have a question, when do you expect a announcement from MLB on the location for the Expos?

That's the million-dollar question BkWin.

We are in constant contact with MLB at this time, and they will contact us if and when they decide to move the team permanently this year, or just for the 2004 season.

The League has made it known that they would like to make a decision by Labor Day (that would be this coming Monday), but it is not necessarily a date that will be adhered to as it is a self-imposed date.

The City of Portland will need to work diligently on the remaining pieces, and as you can see on the website and in my updates here, we have already started (site is getting minor edits to reflect these changes, and I have asked all of you to write the Portland City Council as well).

This is a very fluid process, and historically MLB has never been very forthcoming in their decision making process, even to the principle players.

But, in terms of Portland, we are now a viable option if they see fit, and if we continue to work on the remaining pieces Portland will continue to grow more attractive.

Thanks for asking,
Maury

Maury / Mike,

How can reach by phone the Oregon Stadium Campaign or the Portland Baseball Group?

I am a locally based successful software executive. I watched studiously the transformation of the Cleveland area after Jacobs Field was built. I have a degree in Economic Development. I would like to apply these attributes to bring baseball to Portland successfully.

Would you please provide suggestions as where to start?

Best Regards,

J Creech

My suggestion JCreech is contacting the Oregon Sports Authority at 503-234-4500.
