OSC Forums Mission Statement

For those who are new, or for those that may wish to know exactly what these forums are designed for, we have outlined a "Mission Statement" for the Oregon Stadium Campaign forums.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to weigh in. - Thanks

The following is the Mission Statement of the Oregon Stadium Campaign's website Forums:

  • This is the fans website, dedicated to bringing a Major League Baseball Team to Portland.
  • The site does this by providing information and allowing members to discuss all matter of the relocation process.
  • The overall initiative and direction set forth by OSC and the City of Portland has been determined at this juncture in the process. This direction has been conveyed to MLB with their guidelines in mind. At this time the main objective is passage of House Bill 3606 in Salem. We are focusing 110% of our effort there for the time being.
  • Since some aspects of the effort to build an MLB stadium require delicate negotiations between public and private interests, not every aspect and detail can be shared in a fluid manner.

    Protocol

  • Proper conduct is paramount to the OSC forums. We encourage dialog and non-confrontation. Inflammatory comments, in any manner, are discouraged. The site is, once again, designed to advance the grassroots effort in Oregon and the delivery of information to help in that effort.
  • Failure to adhere to the guidelines regarding conduct can result in suspension from the site. The deletion, or locking of threads for a period of time, and/or permanently is solely the discretion of the OSC staff.
  • These guidelines were created and approved by the Oregon Stadium Campaign steering committee, along with the members of the forums staff.

    I think this is helpful to outline the purpose of OSC. Sometimes it isn't entirely clear, and after the merger of OBC and PBG, it is especially good to give us some direction. Nice work and thanks Maury.

    Yep, the forums are a totaly unique feature in the relocation candidates. Portland is the only one that is trying really hard to get the public involved.

    Everyone here, from those of us on staff, down to the lurkers who have never posted, are all important parts of Oregon's bid for MLB...

    You need to read the top of this thread. I have placed your posts in "moderated" for the time being, until I can see that you're not a rabble rouser.

    I think you need to realize just how serious we are about this statement here under "protocol":
