Hey guys and gals...

You may wish to try the new Avatars that are in your profile settings.

Simply select "Profile" from your "My Space" settings and click the "Edit your Avatar" link.

You'll then see a popup window with a bunch of pre-packaged images to choose from.

For those of you that don't know what an "Avatar" is, it's the little picture under your username.

In my case it's a picture of Ted Williams.

The picture needs to be on the internet, so no you can'y use one that is on your computer.

I think you can upload it to the site and then use it, if not then I'm sure someone would be willing to put it on some space they have . . .

You can use free web space from your Internet Service Provider, if they offer it, and upload your pic there. Or, you can find a service that offers free web space, and do it there. Webolium (based in Eugene Smile) is one.

Good luck! Wink

I dug up a blast from the past, scanned it and put it as my Avatar.

Could someone help me? I got a free website :
www.geocities.com/jymonster/OSC.html and I want to put the "P" as my avatar. Does anyone know how to do this? If I use that URL in the custom avatar page it doesn't work. Thanks.

I tried it Cubbie...It's too big of an avitar...

If I were you I'd use it as my sig...It might work there...

Just go to signature....

put

I don't know if it will work there but I know for sure it won't work in the Avatar...

If it doesn't just keep tryin...Thats what I did...It took me 20 posts to get my avatar and about 10 or 15 to get my sig...You'll find one eventually...

Jeff,
I should have said this a while ago, but please, DO NOT use images in your signature files. When we went to avatars it was done to remove images from the signatures.

We did this to keep page loads from taking too long. Avatars are much smaller in size, and allow us to have some character at the same time.

There only seem to be a couple of people using them in signatures at the moment, but if it grows beyond where we are now, I'll be asking people to remove them yet again.

So... if you can, find an image you can resize that fits in the 40x40 pixel framework.

Thanks,
Maury
