Maury, I think you might need to create another forum for this site. Some of the issues originating from the BBQ board have shown me that there is a need for another board on this site. It honestly seems like there are two divisions on the bbq, and they really need to have their own respective boards. There is one division that likes to talk baseball that does not pertain to the MLB to Portland effort. There is nothing wrong with that. There is another division that likes to talk about NFL, NHL, NBA, WHL, NCAA, politics, etc. I would like to propose making an MLB BBQ board for MLB talk outside of the MLB to Portland effort, and the original BBQ board for everything else under the sun. Not trying to start anything, but create a solution to a possible problem.

I can see what you're saying, PNB. Let me mull it over and discuss with the others on the staff to see what the consensus is.

interesting point, but like a real BBQ, baseball would come up as conversation as well as other topics. I think its kind of fun seeing baseball weave in and out of the topics discussed.

Well, we discussed that matter, and while we saw that there was merit for the idea, the traffic and the way things flow in and out of baseball related subjects make keeping the BBQ, as is for now.

That doesn't mean that we won't be monitoring the forum to see if this idea can't be done in the future.

Good idea... just not enough pure traffic to warrant it right now.
